I'm a Chinese girl who grew up in a Christian family.

           When my parents asked me to choose an English name,

           I was fascinated with the name "Elijah,"

           both for the pronunciation and the meaning.

           Since it's a boy's name,

           I changed it a little bit to combine "Alida" and the prefix "Eli" together,

           and it becomes "Elida."
